Nashville, Tenn. (March 6, 2017) – Emerging indie artist and former ABC Bachelorette contestant, Brady Toops, has announced his forthcoming new album. ”Tried & True” arrives everywhere on March 11th. Paying tribute to his folk/soul influences on the new record, Toops will support the release with a 20+ city tour throughout the U.S. this spring beginning March 16th in Kansas City, MO and continuing dates throughout the Midwest and West Coast.
“Tried & True” is now available for pre-order on iTunes with all purchases accompanied by an instant download of four tracks, including the first and second singles “Carolina” and “Walk In Love” as well as the title-track, “Tried & True”.
Notable indie music blog, The Revue, had these words to say about the lead single “Carolina”:
“Unmistakably Nashville in origin, the song is a mix of soul and alt-country. Brady’s vocals are strong yet vulnerably authentic… This is a song that celebrates the impact intimacy has on the soul.”
In commenting about the second single, "Walk In Love", released from the new album, Toops said, “This is my attempt to help counter all the hate and division we currently see in our nation - political hate, religious hate, misogyny, racism, hate for immigrants and the less fortunate. I believe love, and not judgment, is the only answer.”
Early reviews of the new album from Brady Toops praise its heartfelt authenticity:
“My only advice is to ensure you have plenty of handkerchiefs in hand to wipe away the tears as the mournful soul-blues drifts across the room with a semi-baritone vocal laying alongside dour instrumentation giving the Tried & True LP its deep emotional resonance.”
The former professional baseball player (St. Louis Cardinals) turned musician and contestant on Season 11 of ABC’s hit reality TV show “The Bachelorette” will commemorate the new album “Tried & True” with “The Tried & True Tour”, a 20+ U.S. city headlining run starting March 16th in Kansas City, MO and continuing through April across the Midwest and West Coast. The tour will hit up venues including Portland’s Lola’s Room at The Crystal Ballroom (March 22), Seattle’s Capps Club with local Seattle band, Hallstrom (March 24), and The University of Arkansas (March 30), as well as an assortment of other exclusive, intimate shows in various non-traditional venues including art spaces and houses. Tickets are currently on-sale to the general public. For complete details and ticket information, visit http://bradytoops.com.
Co-produced by Brady Toops and recorded in various studios around Nashville, TN, “Tried & True” captures the rootsy, soulful sound that Toops is known for. The new album is a follow up to the artist’s debut self-titled album (“Brady Toops”), which was released in 2013 and drew notable attention, climbing to #8 on its respective iTunes chart. The first single “By The River” hit numerous playlists on Spotify and has garnered over a million plays to date. RELEVANT Magazine also featured Toops on their ever-popular Relevant Studio Sessions with live performances of the songs “Come On Home” and “O For Grace” combining to gather over a million views on RELEVANT’s YouTube channel. In the 3.5 years since his debut album was released, Brady has toured the U.S. extensively as well as internationally. He has also been the supporting act for John Mark McMillan, Drew Holcomb, and Ben Rector, as well as sharing festival stages alongside bands like Switchfoot and NEEDTOBREATHE.
Brady Toops is an American singer/songwriter. Originally from New London, a small Minnesota town, Toops spent the majority of his early years running around on diamonds and athletic fields. After making a brief stint in Minor League Baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals, he left the world of athletics in 2006 to pursue music.
A few years later, Toops moved to Nashville, TN, and released his debut self-titled album in 2013. Showcasing a modern yet timeworn songwriting approach and rustic baritone voice, Toops has turned new listeners into dedicated fans across the globe, touring extensively in the U.S. as well as overseas.
Taking a slight haitus from touring in 2015, Brady appeared on Season 11 of ABC's hit reality TV show "The Bachelorette". As one of the 25 suitors looking to win the heart of the Bachelorette, Brady left the show during the first night's rose ceremony to pursue one of the Bachelorettes who was voted off, a unique twist for that season.
Fresh off a highly adventurous summer with a surplus of emotions and newfound experiences, Toops took the inspiration and disappeared into the studio to write and record 10 new songs. The record that ensued is Toops' boldest and most honest record to date, showcasing a rootsy, soulful sound that builds off his previous work.
